EOSC federation handbook
An overview of the organisational and operational structure, and technical characteristics, of the EOSC Federation.
The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) has released the first edition of the EOSC Federation Handbook, a practical guide for organisations that are interested in making their resources available within and across the EOSC Federation of nodes.
Purpose and target audience
The EOSC Federation Handbook serves as a practical manual for organizations interested in becoming part of the EOSC Federation. It outlines the necessary steps, governance structures, operational requirements, and technical specifications for establishing and managing an EOSC Node.
The Handbook reflects the decisions from the EOSC TripartiteGovernance on the EOSC Federation. It is intended for: facility managerss, policymakers, technical staff of research-performing and funding organizations, providers of scientific services and e-Infrstructures

Chapter 2: governance framework and legal structure.
Chapter 3: operational structure of the EOSC Federation. The requirements to become an EOSC Node, technical or otherwise, are outlined here.
Chapter 4: architecture of an EOSC Node, how services can be set up and interlinked, and specifically the requirements for federated capabilities and relationships with the EOSC EU Node.
